First Draft November, final week

Progress: 20,719 words. Total word count: 50K!!

We made it through this month’s challenge! Here’s an overview of my daily word counts. I didn’t think I’d be able to catch up the last week, but I did, barely! But, honestly, any progress toward a novel is worth celebrating—plotting, writing, editing, coming up with a working title. I’m happy I completed the challenge, but I’m most grateful that I get to write!

I tracked my daily word count using WriteTrack.cloud, which I highly recommend because it updates the next day’s goal based on today’s work.

I plan to finish this draft in December, but I am setting a daily writing time goal instead of a word count. I will write for at least one hour every day. And, yes, thinking about writing while holding a pen counts toward the writing time 😉

This is the final update in posts. From now on, I’ll use this Substack to share some of my writing instead. And perhaps a rant or two.
